      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at K2 Consulting (San Jose, CA) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I was happily greeted by the woman at the front desk. The office is very nice and well organized. The gentleman who conducted my interview was on time and prompt; he didn't keep me waiting. My first interview was short and to the point. The manager gave me in depth details on the position and the type of candidate they were looking for. I got invited back for a second round interview which was a little more time consuming. It was conducted by one of the Account Executives. He gave me all the information I needed to know about the company and position as well as answered all my questions about the pay, my daily schedule and what they expected of the selected candidate. The office environment is very positive and the employees are very welcoming and nice. I got a job offered and accepted and it's been a pleasure working here ever since.

      Application

I interviewed at K2 Consulting (San Jose, CA)

      Interview

With 20+ years of experience in customer service and 5+ years in sales I have an impressive resume for the position that was being advertised. I am willing to work entry level when it really is for consulting and not just for sales. I have that sales, that's what provides the knowledge to be ready to go into consulting. Before applying I checked them out and saw they had their hands in many fields. I applied twice and my husband who has a degree and experience also applied. No one ever called. I considered whether my age was the factor that eliminated me from the applicant pool. I considered whether it was my cover letter that was more conversational and honest as opposed to hitting all the right buzz words in a few paragraphs of fluff. I drove by to see the location and found it in an aged building sharing space with several other companies. Their web site is more impressive than their office space. I've come to the conclusion that I was slightly too intelligent to fall for what spiel they might try and throw at me and therefore I was of no use to them. They are still constantly advertising with what appears to be the same position described various ways. They always seem to be looking for several people. I would take their job listings with a grain of salt. World travel and lots of company outings? Those are great words for getting someone to start working for you. When they have to use all capital letters to say "NOT A CALL CENTER" in their ad, they might be something very similar.
