I applied online. I interviewed at K2 Consulting (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
I applied through Glassdoor and within two days of posting my resume I received a call from a secretary wanting to schedule an interview in person. When I got to the office I was surprised to see four other candidates waiting to be interviewed as well. This sent a red flag up in my mind. I was not told this would be other candidates in the office as well.. The secretary who I talked to made it seem like I was the only candidate being interviewed as this time.
After waiting about twenty minutes past my original interview time, the CEO finally called me into his office. I went into the interview alone; it was not a group interview. The CEO started off the conversation by introducing himself, why he started the company, and the hours I would be working are from 11:00am-8:30pm, which are not the hours of operation listed on the K2 Consulting website.. I said those hours would work for me. Then, he proceeded to say the job was selling AT&T U-Verse. After he finished basically pitching to me why AT&T U-Verse is the best way to watch tv, he asked if I had any questions. I had to ask if this was a door-to-door sales job, and he would not directly answer my question and started selling why this job would be a great experience. I asked him the same question, but in a different way and he finally said it would be a door-to-door sales job. He asked if that was what I was looking for? I politely declined and said I would not have even applied to this job if I knew it was door-to-door sales. He seemed stunned. I thanked him for his time and said in the future you might want to say on the job description under key details that it is DOOR-TO-DOOR sales.
