      Anonymous employee
      Los Angeles, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Justice League LA (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2019

      Interview

Two tier interview process. First tier was a meet and greet basically, and the second gave a pay breakdown and what the day to day would be like. Didn’t reveal the commission component until the end.

      Event Manager Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Justice League LA (Glendale, CA)

      Interview

Bait and switch. Advertised and called you in to interview for the Event Manager position, only to find out after TWO interviews that they do not hire anyone into that position. They only hire commission based fundraisers. First interview is a regular one on one interview, except they refuse to give any details about the company or position. The second interview is all about the sales pitch trying to get you to agree to the fundraiser position (where you will stand outside stores and beg for money with next to no pay) instead of the position you applied and were actually interviewing for. Justice League LA tries to pass this off as "training" For the higher positions, even promising partner positions with very high salaries to entice you into the low level position. Interviewers were very shady and avoided answering most questions about the job, the company, the pay, and the advancement path they were promising.

      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Justice League LA (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2019

      Interview

Justice League LA is one step away from an MLM. Like 1/8th of a step. I applied to this job coming from an advertising agency as an Account Manager with almost 7 years of experience. I wanted to make a switch to the non-profit sector and they were among the first to call me in for an interview. When I arrived at their office, I honestly could not tell if I was going to walk away with both of my kidneys. I've seen seedy offices before, but their office was really sketchy. Anyway, I get called in to an office by an interviewer. They asked me basic questions about my work history and education. At this point I'm really not sure what the job and position is, and anytime I asked the interviewer a question about the company and the job itself all they would tell me is: "We work with non-profits such as DARE, and you will feel good working here and making a difference." Very vague almost to the point where I'm pretty sure the interviewer had no idea what the job is. They decided on the spot to bring me in for a 2nd interview. Against my better judgement, I decided to accept the 2nd interview. The 2nd interview was worse than the first one. I was interviewed by a lady that clearly never received formal training on how to conduct an interview. She gave me a breakdown of how much I will make weekly working 8+ hours a day 6 days a week. It was all commission based and everyone started in the bottom. Promotions were given every 6 months with a minimal pay raise. I would be okay with if this was my first job. They knew how much I am currently making from the job application, and they still decided to waste my time by "offering" me 1/5 of my current salary. Now here's the kicker, the lady that interviewed me asked me the following questions which violated laws enforced by the EOCC. 1) She asked me if I had a girlfriend or married. 2) She asked me what my race was. 3) She asked me my age. At that point I wanted to walk out but I played along for some entertainment. They offered me a job on the spot (which by the way involves you setting up a table at grocery stores and asking for money and you get to keep 30% of whatever you raise). They will hire anyone since I'm sure their turnover is higher than they can bamboozle people into working with them. I of course did not take the job but I made sure to make that as vague as I can.
