Easy Interview

Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Imperial Tobacco Canada (Halifax, NS) in December 2017.

Interview

Just had the first phone interview with ITC. The process takes quite a long time maybe because of the holiday. Asked few very basic questions, like why chose ITC, tell us what you know about the company, why should we hire you, are you willing to relocate, etc

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Imperial Tobacco Canada (Vancouver, BC) in July 2012.

    Interview

Was contacted for a short 10-minute pre-screen interview by an HR rep. Two days later she e-mailed to set up an in-person interview for the next week. Prior to the in-person interview I had to complete a personality inventory and test designed to measure problem-solving abilities (basically ability to recognize patterns). The e-mail stated the wrong time for the interview & I ended up having to reschedule.

The in-person interview was conducted by two district managers and was fairly informal, they had a set list of questions that they just read directly off the paper, but their tones were casual. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. One DM gave the impression I would absolutely be called back, the other was difficult to read. I received an e-mail about 10 days later stating that I had not been selected.

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Imperial Tobacco Canada (Montreal, QC) in June 2010.

    Interview

    1st: phone screen - 15-20 mins - relatively easy
2nd: 2 person panel interview - going through resume, why this position, why sales, why the company
3rd: 3 person panel interview: situational and behavioral questions. Describe me a time...what would you do if this....career aspiations, etc.
4th: 1 on 1 with regional manager. Usually at this point, you are hired, but regional manager needs to see that you are not a disaster.
Quick process - 4 weeks total and hired.
