Interview
Several hundred canidates for the position were brought into a large room and 5-10 reps came around and sat with each person verifing your work experience and asked a few questions. They had us all fill out a booklet, take a fingerprint then exit the building. Very boring, very long but everyone was very nice.
I applied online. I interviewed at IRS (Austin, TX) in Feb 2026
Interview
I went to the hiring event. The process took a couple of hours, due to the waiting, but If you passed the first stage regarding the resume, which was at least 2 years working experience, you were eligible to move forward. I had a 1 minute interview where he described the job and asked if that sounded like something I wanted to do.
Live hiring events are a cattle call. As long as you don't have a felony or on current probation you will most likely get hired. Easy process to get hired.
