      Operations Manager Interview

      Aug 21, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ID Logistics (Denver, CO) in Aug 2024

      Interview

I initially got called for a phone screen after I applied online where I was asked questions regarding my background. Once I was told that they were going to push me through they explicitly told me to prepare myself for questions about safety and to have my camera on and to dress nice. In my first video interview, I was asked the below questions and there did not seem to be a conversation that was had but being bombarded with questions. It did not feel like a personal process and that my answers were being truly listened to. I was told that my weakness was obvious and to come up with a different one - the weakness that I used which is one I have worked on is delegating tasks to direct reports. I thought the interview went well and it did because I got pushed to my next interview and was told the same things that I needed to have my camera on, dress well, and be prepared to be asked about my experience with safety and a deeper dive into my experience. my second interview came and it was with someone that was 3 levels above me, so my boss' boss' boss. This person did not put their camera on at all and it sounded like they were driving in the car when they were not muted. Every time I answered my question it came with a "hmm okay" and then they asked the next question. I was asked about my leadership style and then when I asked in the end what leadership style is the best leadership style in this role that has been successful was told that everyone leads differently and approaches situations differently. Which does not make sense since I was reviewed on my answer of leadership style but was told any works in this role. At the end of the interview, I was told that the recruiter would be reaching out to me next steps but they had many many interviews left to do still. I waited 1 week after that interview and did not hear anything from anyone and so I reached out to the recruiter for next steps and to follow up on if there was anything that they needed from me. I still have not heard anything from anyone, not each reaching out explaining that they are still interviewing other people and to just wait.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is a strength? What is a weakness? Why did you leave your previous jobs? Have you ever worked with lean six sigma and with what project? If you had inventory issues, what would you do? What is your leadership style? How do you motivate people? Why should we hire you? What is your level of expertise of Excel?
