I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Herndon, VA) in Sep 2009
Interview
I handed my resume during a College career fair in April 09, looking for full time employment when I graduated in December. I was added as an "high quality candidate" for entry level consulting during that summer. I was offered an interview in September 2009, before the rest of the candidates. I had 3 25 minute interviews during one day at my college.
Mostly they were typical situational questions, tell me about a time... There was one case study question from a Partner. "Try to figure out how many locations of a particular fast food chain are in the US". To figure out your problem solving skills.
After the interview, I had to fill out some forms a couple weeks later. Regarding personal information, past employment, and living history. Then I was sent an email with the job offer a week later. I was given 1 month to respond.

A speed interview, about two minutes to present a solution to a case, about 5 minutes to prepare. Overall the interview was quite difficult, and the case is not easy.
I applied online. I interviewed at IBM in Oct 2020
Interview
Behavioral Interview and then Group Case Study Interview. Group case study was with other applicants, the interviewers were all nice and welcoming. Behavioral interview was pretty conversational and relaxed, and I really liked my interviewer. All of this was done virtually due to COVID-19, but they carried it out very well
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at IBM (Calgary, AB)
Interview
Consisted of a 3 step process: coffee chat, social with current IBMers and other candidates, and a final 45 minute in person interview. The whole process took about a month to get through and you would be notified if you made it to the next step about a week after each step. Be ready to get out of your comfort zone!
