I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Guitar Center in Sep 2012
Interview
We were brought in for a group interview with about 10 or so people in total. It was run by two managers of the store, and proceeded through general questions which each person in the group gave answers to. If you get called back you interview with one or two managers and go over things like your expectations of growth within the company, and what the company expects from its associates. Very basic and simple process that may or may not weed out less qualified candidates depending on the managers conducting the interviews and what the store needs at any given time.

Question 1
Since you would be working on commission, what is one way you would increase business for yourself?
Well thought out interview pretty easy, I thought it went well but didn't get offered a position. I still feel like they are a good company although I heard they changed there commission structure in the past few years.
Simple and to the point. They want to know if you fit into the company culture. They also want to know what your skill set is as far as musical ability. It is very easygoing and relaxed

Interview
Felt like I was being interrogated or discriminated against, as if this were an important career. Dude, you hire high school students. Give me a break. Avoid applying to guitar center.
