      Sales Development Representative Interview

      Jan 18, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mill Valley, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Mill Valley, CA) in Jan 2016

      Interview

After submitting my resume I got a call two days later about my resume. I had a great phone call with a manager about my past experience, why sales and why Glassdoor. After our half hour conversation she invited me to an interview in Mill Valley for that same week. They do move very fast on interviews which is nice. Going into the interview I did my research on Glassdoor about the interview process, so I felt really prepared going in. Basically all of the interview questions told above are the same ones that I got, just worded differently. I had read above that many people got feedback on their interviews which was also very appreciated. But I got no feedback. They just released me after the interview and said they would let me know if I moved on. I didn't move on and I cannot quiet figure out why. I wish I could get some feedback about what did and did not interest them about my application. But after the email that they are no longer interested in my application, no one will answer my emails. It is unfortunate because from what i have heard, they pride themselves on their work environment of constructive criticism.

Thank you for sharing your interview experience with us. First, I'd like to thank you for preparing for the interview; I'm sure that your preparation made a a positive impact on us. I realize that you are probably juggling many interviews with different companies so we appreciate you taking the time out of your day to research us before coming in. Secondly, I hear you on the feedback. I've given feedback to many candidates and I believe each time they found it helpful for personal development and growth. I'd be happy to have a conversation with you to provide you some feedback. Can you please send me an email so that we can coordinate times? If you and I met I can give you some feedback from personal experience, otherwise I can compile feedback from the group and also give you some best practices from what I've learned interviewing other candidates. I'd also like to learn from you how we can best standardize our candidate feedback process so that every candidate gets a consistent experience and can learn from their interview with us. Thank you, Eric Gonzalez Associate Director, Sales Development eric.gonzalez@glassdoor.com

      Interview

I met Marijka and Caroline who made me feel so at ease from the second I walked in the door. They were both chatty and bubbly and allowed for a very open conversation. It was around my background and how my experience can relate to the position. A few competency based questions thrown in too. Mainly about what motivates you and your growth mindset. The interview was 45 minutes and the a 30 minute role play.

Overall interview process was one of the nicest interviews I’ve had. First phone call with recruiter, (informal and get to know you and a bit on your background) This lead to an on site interview the following week with two sales managers. Two genuine lovely women who I connected with immediately. 45 mins of competency based interview questions Then a 15 minute mock call.

      Interview

I had a phone screen with a recruiter who went through why I wanted to work there and general questions such as why I’m looking to move and my salary expectations etc. I then had a face to face interview with manager which was a 45 minute competency based interview and then a 15 minute qual call that I had to prepare for and I also had to prepare a question that was asked in the interview - how I would secure 100 opportunities in a quarter.

      Question 1

How I prepared for the interview? What I know about glassdoor? How I perform in teams? How I like to be managed? My 5 year plan?
