I was only able to get up to the 2nd phase of the interview process. The recruiter who contacted me through LinkedIn was amazing. She was super informative and encouraging.
I found the recruiter in the second phase of the interview process to be unprofessional with his interviewing method and hypercritical of each of my responses. I compared my resume and education to current CSA's (Client Service Associates); I found that my experience (internships, jobs, projects, etc.) far exceeded the current CSA's, and also discovered that our education aligned almost identically. Recruiters need to meet a quota. That quota can be broken into how many people they contact to promote the job listing, how many potential candidates they interview, and how many people they manage to hire. Personally, I believe they didn't like the way I replied to their questions, and it wasn't a matter of me being unqualified. I will advise anyone interviewing to over-prepare. Create a script and have two types of retorts. I say this because the recruiter kept cutting me off and basically told me to rephrase my answers in the manner that he expected them to be. The East coast based Gartner recruiter did not disguise his discourtesy. They claim to prefer STAR Method formulated statements, but I feel like the recruiter doesn't have the patience to stick around for a well-rounded STAR Method response. I went it confident and ended up really nervous, stuttering over my words trying to read his mind. I have interviewed with high-level companies and I have never felt so conquered. Take a look at my profile, I don't have numerous of reviews posted, JUST THIS ONE. I hope they get rid of the STAR Method expectation if they aren't going to properly embrace it. Also, the STAR Method is outdated and it not at all natural to human interaction. This is my opinion and experience. Don't bully me, for sharing the way I feel. Thanks and Good luck!
