I applied online. I interviewed at Freestate Business Concepts
Interview
I received an email less than 24 hours after applying through Career Builder. I was under the impression that the position was for their Canton office. Yet, the email asked me to come to their office next to BWI. Once arriving, there were about 5-6 other people waiting as well. The first interview was about 10 minutes due to the "large amount of applications" they had received.I was asked to come back for a second interview and half-day shadow. Once arriving, I assumed I would go out and shadow the salesmen. Wrong! I was taken to a Subway Restaurant located in their parking lot. There were 2 other people there who looked to be interviewing with Freestate as well. Interesting business concept there.... I was told there that the position was residential door-to-door selling of energy equipment. Although the young account manager who interviewed me was beyond helpful and nice, it was not the job for me nor business model for me.

Interview
I didn't actually apply, but saw the listing on a job search website. I called the company to see if they were legitimate and was immediately told to come in the next day to interview. The interview was a cattle call. There were so many people in and out it was ridiculous. During the "interview" I was told that I would have to start from the bottom even with my degrees and experience. I told them I was not interested.
Bottom Line: The job is being a door-to-door type salesman where you will be overworked and highly underpaid and not be able to translate the skills to a future in marketing. Being a door-to-door salesman is NOT being in the marketing business. This company is entirely misleading and I feel bad for those who get roped in.

First I was was selected for the first interview, which I went in for 10 minutes. There were a bunch of others there doing the same. I met with Katie, the "owner" according to the website. Anyway she just asked me a few simple questions like do I like people and am I punctual? RED FLAGS! Nothing about myself. I was called the next day for their full day shadowing second round. I went with two girls door to door selling t-mobile subscriptions to businesses. Not my cup of tea. Perhaps you can make money doing this. And maybe you can become "management" by forming a team and getting other under you doing this, but it sounds like a pyramid scheme to me. I decided to use it as a networking day. And I was polite to everyone, but I felt bad for the girls sucked in thinking they were going to make $ on this. I'm sure it's 100% commission. That's why I'm posting this review.
(I didn't get an offer, but it's because after the shadowing thing they ask you how you liked the sales thing and I honestly said it wasn't for me.)
