      Software Developer Interview

      Dec 13, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Financeit (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

After an HR screen took two trips from Montreal to interview with the engineering team - took days off at work. Made it to the last round just to get completely ghosted in the end. I understand sending a resume into the void and getting no response but ghosting someone at the last round of interviews when they knew I'm coming from another city and taking days off from work is messed up.

Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for your experience. There might have been an issue with our Zoom link, as we also had a candidate who did not come to their interview this week and we never heard back from. If you are willing, please email our internal recruiter at vtailor@financeit.io so that we can understand what happened and reschedule if possible.

      Software Developer Interview

      Feb 19, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Financeit (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2020

      Interview

Approached by the company's recruiter, did an initial phone screening(background and behavioural questions) followed by an online coding assessment (powered by HackerRank). It consisted of 3 coding questions, 2 were straightforward, the other one needed a bit of thinking. I was invited on site couple days later. Two rounds of on-site interviews, first round with senior dev/managers, second round with more software devs. Other than asking about my background and telling me about the company, both rounds had white board questions where I was expected to write code (not pseudocode) on a whiteboard in any language. I found them to be a little bit easier than the online coding assessment. They wanted to see how you approach the questions, so be sure to talk it out and ask for clarification whenever in doubt. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. All the interviewers (5 in total) were friendly and delightful to talk to, and I could tell that they enjoyed working there.
