      Senior Manager Interview

      Aug 6, 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sunnyvale, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Equinix (Sunnyvale, CA) in Aug 2017

      Interview

I got a terrible impression about this company right away because they use a video interview process called Hirevue. You have to sit in front of a camera and answer questions that are fed to you by the system - you don't interact with a human. That told me immediately they only care about appearances and how well you talk the talk. I ended it before answering any question. Nevertheless they called me, which means they don't put a lot of stock in the Hirevue process themselves. The interview provided an even worse impression. They didn't follow the schedule they gave me. Everyone was late or had to change with someone else. Blatantly racist interview and hiring process. They will only hire Indians. Most of the people that I saw there are Indians, and my entire interview panel (7 men, most under 40) were Indians. Also, unprofessional behavior from recruiting team as they never called me to tell me that I wasn't hired. I guess I was supposed to figure it out on my own.

I'm sorry your engagement with us left you with such a bad impression. I can assure you that is never our intention and will work with the team so that future candidates have a better experience. At Equinix, we use HireVue so our candidates can bring their resume to life and share more about their relevant experiences and accomplishments than can be conveyed in a resume. We don't want to miss out on a great candidate just because their resume didn't include the right keywords or information. And while we would love to meet with all of our candidates, the reality is that our interview teams have limited bandwidth. This is why it is important to us to provide potential candidates with the opportunity to share as much relevant information as possible with the hiring manager so they can make the best decision about who to invite on-site for in-person interviews. We take your claims about racism seriously. Equinix has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination in our hiring practices and in our workplace. We will look in to the matter based on the information you shared in your review. If you are willing to share additional details so we can further investigate, please contact Life@Equinix.com.

      Senior Manager Interview

      May 20, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Equinix (Bengaluru) in May 2022

      Interview

Initially it was good friendly discussion with HR phone screening . And based on that I was scheduled for 1st round with Director. The position was based out in India . Interview went well and I was quite confident for the next steps. But suddenly after a week when I pushed for an update through an email it was intimated to me "Due to our change in Direction" we are moving in a different way where as in the interview with HR screening round it was told to me that they are expanding in Bangalore India. This was very upsetting email from an HR after having a round of discussion. That shows you have no vision of right kind of hiring in India and you are planning for an expansion in 2022. I am not sure is this the kind of expansion ? By the word of mouth they are loosing their own credibility in the recruitment market. If so was the case then Management should line up candidates only when you have firm decision of setting up in India. Right now they are remotely connecting with prospective candidates and few HRs from India they do not have a clear direction what needs to be done for the candidates who are lined up or whom they contacted for rounds of interviews. Only thing they do is -the moment a candidate apply any job in their portal Workday they connect with the candidate saying that our next team will connect with you. I feel this company lacks professionalism . The company who has these kind of process of vision before hiring not sure after joining what would be the case or culture. I will rate such a company with very poor ratings even though they may be a market leader in some area.
