Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Edelman (Chicago, IL (US)).

Interview

Extensive and very organized interview process. First, I was phone screened by HR. Then I had a call with the hiring manager. I then took a personality test and had a day of in-person interviews - with the ability to meet with multiple team members and obtain a true feel for the role, the company as well as the client/client challenges and opportunities. After the in-person, I took a test and then received an offer.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Edelman (San Mateo, CA (US)) in May 2009.

    Interview

Edelman is a great place to work - I love it here. Their interviewing process is often long and requires several interviews. They are working to find the right people and that process can sometimes take a bit of time.

    Interview Questions

    • Give an example of a time when you didn't perform or missed expectations significantly. How did you address the issue and learn from it?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Negotiation was straight-forward. They were careful to discuss compensation early in the process so there were few surprises. I needed to take some time off for a family matter only a few weeks after I started. They were happy to include that time in my offer and made it easy for me to take the time off.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Edelman (Seattle, WA (US)) in July 2013.

    Interview

The interview process was thorough and educational. Those interviewing me - from the recruiter, to staff an my office, to the practice group lead - provided great insights and I never felt as if I was being pitched. Instead, they came across as wanting to ensure a good fit, which I greatly appreciated.

    Interview Questions

    • There wasn't a single question that stood out as more difficult or unexpected than any other. Instead, the most difficult part was simply the length of the interview process. However, this was in part my own doing as I was initially reticent about the opportunity, so I really appreciated the time they took.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

    Relatively painless.

It was well conducted overall. Interviews started with senior HR, then moved up to senior management both in Brazil as well as in the US.
