I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Edelman (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2013
Interview
quickly organized, 30minutes with each interviewer, moved fairly quickly and included senior people as well as the team members the position would manage. Everyone was more or less on time and polite.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Knowledge of the industry, knowledge of key skills. overall not a tough, over-the-top interview process. There was also a writing sample portion they gave you a day or two to write, as well as a casestudy/ campaign you were supposed to create.
A series of interviews over a month with different members of the team and HR. Enjoyed speaking with everyone and secured the job! Also submitted a writing assignment during the process.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Edelman (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2023
Interview
I had one interview with HR - she said she believed my background would be an excellent fit. We spoke on a Wednesday, and she said she would be back in touch on Friday. Which Friday remains to be seen. FFS!
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Edelman
Interview
I met with a recruiter for a phone screen, and then had two video interviews with senior team members. There was some lag time between interviews, and I had to follow up with the recruiter I was working with to meet the second person after he had a scheduling conflict. I thought the interviews went well, and the recruiter let me know I had moved on to the next round. I was travelling abroad at the time, but didn't want to miss out on the opportunity, so I moved my schedule around to take third and fourth interviews with members of the leadership team.
I didn't hear back from the recruiter after the last interview, so I reached out and she said she would get back to me with news by the end of that week. Nothing. Two weeks later, I sent an email to close the loop because I had other offers pending, which didn't receive a reply.
It was surprising because I think on both sides, we were fairly candid and engaged throughout the process, and I enjoyed the conversations at the time. This role was for a newer unit so I understand the disorganization to some extent, but the lack of respect for my time really soured me on Edelman. (I ended up in a senior marketing role for a tech company in the same vertical.)
