Interview
It was a pleasant experience speaking with the HR representative and the project manager. However, I was quite surprised by the technical interview. The interviewers did not turn on their cameras, which I found to be a red flag and made the communication feel less transparent.
Additionally, I was asked about new Angular features that I have not yet used in practice. In my experience, technical interviews typically focus on evaluating a candidate’s overall problem-solving approach and coding mindset. The fact that I haven’t used the latest syntax yet doesn’t mean I’m unable to write clean, effective code or adapt to new features quickly.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ECT (Munich, Bavaria)
Interview
I had an initial interview where I was accepted to move forward to the next stage. They sent me an assessment, which I completed and submitted. After sending it, they thanked me and said they would get back to me, but I never heard anything further. I followed up politely by email, but received no response.
The process took 4 months. I interviewed at ECT in Jul 2025
Interview
Process:
• Pre-interview phone call with the Design Lead
• 1-hour conversation with the Design Lead
• 2.5-hour on-site technical interview with the design team, including a portfolio presentation and a whiteboard challenge
I was rejected after the final round, but the Design Lead provided detailed feedback by email, which I really appreciated. The design team was welcoming and friendly during the onsite meeting.
Cons: I only found out in the final round that the role was fully on-site, which doesn’t work for me.
Whiteboard challenge:
They use an abstract design task not related to ETC’s real products. My challenge was to design a plant care app for two friends (a gardener and a developer who forgets to water plants). The challenge included:
— Step 1: Explaining your process for approaching the problem
— Step 2: Brainstorming features and ideas
— Step 3: Creating a user flow diagram
— Step 4: Reviewing existing screens and suggesting improvements
