      Account Services Expert Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Docusign in Sep 2021

      Interview

The whole process was confusing. I applied for the Account Services Expert role in São Paulo, Brazil. The first interview never actually happened (I signed in for the meeting but the interviewer never showed up). A few days after that, they contacted me again in order to reschedule. This time, everything worked out perfectly regarding the interviews. I went through 4 different people and finally received an offer on Friday, September 17th. This is where things started to get even messier. The Brazilian HR team offered me a salary (which initially did not meet my expectations) + a pack of benefits that I really found attractive. When I turned down the initial offer, they came back with a better salary which I then accepted. Given the 2-week notice that I'd need to deliver at my current job, I was expecting to receive an offer letter on Monday, Sep 20th. I eventually received it (after asking again and again for it) yesterday, Sep 22nd. When I went to sign it, the offer letter did not have most of the benefits promised by the company and the salary was not what we agreed upon. I asked my point of contact if that was a mistake since it gave me no legal guarantees I would receive the benefits after signing (the salary admittedly was incorrect). She then replied saying they were never a guarantee of mine in the first place, but company policies that would eventually be granted to me after a certain period of time. I explained to her that she never mentioned this since it would mean a whole different context in order for me to accept it. I understand this may be a company policy, but the HR department needs to be clearer on how they process and send information to possible new employees. Given this whole scenario, I eventually declined the offer even though I was eager and really excited to work at DocuSign. Unfortunately, outside factors (such as a pandemic) still influence us in decision-making regarding a job, and when things are not clear and start getting shady is when we have to take a step back from our dreams and goals in order to safeguard ourselves.
