I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Deloitte (Cincinnati, OH) in Sep 2010
Interview
Started the interview process by submitting my resume through the college portal for public accounting interviews. The Big Four accounting firms then came to campus & selected the candidates they wanted to interview. Initial interviews were held with the Recruiting person who either passed you through to the real interviews or declined any further progress. Once you made the next round there was typically a night-time social followed by 3 interviews the at the company office the next day. After my office interviews, I was notified the next day that I received an offer.
It was an on campus placement interview, they mostly asked about my CV and personal achievements. Some questions were regarding basics of accounting like principles of accounting and treatment of depreciation and other items in all 3 statements.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
about my prior internship experience and how i developed myself through it.
5 rounds of interview - 1 HR, 2 technical, 1 Versant (english understanding and communication) & 1 Partner. Partner round can be technical or general depending upon your partner. Questions can range from "why audit" to core accounting and auditing questions
the interview was very conversational. entry level position is not technical at all but you should bring in experience anyways. didn’t get the position but interviewers seemed very laid back and were probably taking the interview from their phone
