      Sales Manager Interview

      Apr 19, 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Miramar, FL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Comcast (Miramar, FL) in Apr 2011

      Interview

Position I applied for: Sales Team Supervisor. I was scheduled for a phone interview with a recruiter and the timing was impeccable, the interview was as any other with the typical questions about examples of situations and how were they resolved. I was told that the interview went very well and that another interview was in the way, this time a Spanish speaking individual call me to check in my Spanish knowledge. The interview went well and I was directed to make an internet assessment, which I did. I was contacted by the recruiter by phone and instructed to visit the Comcast center and attend to a new prospects presentation followed by another interview, this time face to face. After the interview I was told that I did really well and they welcome me to Comcast with a letter and instructions to proceed with the drug test and the background check. Everything seemed to be OK, I announced family and friends of my new job with Comcast and I was ready for a period of vacations since the new job was a month away. The following day I received a call from the recruiter announcing me that I needed another interview, this time with the VP of customer service, which was a surprise. But, what could happen? Well, I guess the worst could happen because a few days later I received a final offer with a change in the position I applied for. The offer was to work as representative instead of supervisor, to my surprise the VP had demoted me even before I started working with the company. I rejected the offer and for sure I am not going to forget the hiring process and the incompetence of some VP, they have all the rights to do what they do, because they are allowed to, what they should not do is to use a process as confusing and offensive, set you hiring process straight Mr. VP.

      Interview

Phone screen followed by a group interview, first interview goes well after that no one is interested in hiring you. Seems like they have candidates picked out prior to listing the position as the group interview is a joke, disengaged people just wasting your time.
