      Front End Developer Interview

      Jun 22, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at College Board

      Interview

Phone interview (mostly behavioral), followed by a tech screening interview. After screening half day interview with different groups in different departments. It felt like none of my previous work experience or code projects mattered. It simply came down to if I could get through their interview process. In the group interview there were some great questions, etc. However, the majority felt like a "test". An interview is for both the company AND the interviewee to determine if it's a good fit. I ended up getting an offer but declined. If they want to interview like they are a big tech company, then they need to step up their offer packages. They had some very outdated practices (pager system - yes, a physical pager, no work from home options, etc).
