I had a phone screen, followed by an on-site, and some follow-up video chats. The phone screen was casual and concise - to the point. They were looking for someone who had the depth and breadth in software engineering with base concepts plus front-end experience. I fit their profile. The on-site was very professional. I was greeted at the door by their HR rep, received a handout of what the company details are including board, exec team, and benefits. I was interviewed by at least 5 or 6 staff members, some technical, some personality, some explaining what the company does, what the technical problems lie, and where they are putting their efforts. They were very straightforward with what needs the company has for a web developer role. By the end of the interview, I was excited about the company. Last round of interviews was with the rest of the exec team I didn't meet. I really liked the CEO's attitude and frankness. His transparency won me over. I've worked with CEOs in the past that don't interact with employees, which creates a toxic culture. I didn't see that in him or the company.
