      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at CRED

      Interview

Interview was divided in 5 rounds. Some of the interviewers were good at their knowledge while couple of them less knowledgeable. Now my interview at CRED went fantastic in my opinion, which mostly people say, but let me be very honest here, it went fantastic indeed. In all the Technical round you are mostly asked from your project and questions revolve around them. You may be a asked a probability question as well. Now let's go into details. In all technical rounds I was at my best answering all the questions in thorough detail, writing every thing over my one note. Explaining every bit of mathematics, equations etc. When I reached my 5th round which was coding round, apart from technical questions on project , there were 2 coding questions. I solved one in 5-7 minutes, while in the second I took time and eventually got stuck. Result:- I was not selected On contacting HR team, I got an update that one of the round has to be a strong hire, I was surprised to see I did not have strong rating in any technical interview. There was an interviewer who was not having concept clarity himself and got stuck in asking me question, he was confused with Covariance shift and Vanishing/exploding gradient. While I rate myself in coding, but I got stuck in 1 logical question but I did solve the other in quick time. I also take interviews, and go deep in concepts and look towards quality. But I don't know what CRED is looking for in a candidate. Setting high standards is one thing but being too ambitious is not good at all. I definitely honestly think that CRED has lost a strong candidate in me no doubt, but now the reason for me to write all this is to let other candidates know, that no matter how good you are you are at the mercy of the interviewers with no criteria at all. Keep your standards high , but not too high to loose a potential candidate. And stop saying after long discussion, we have reached conclusion that you lack necessary skills. Had that been the case you would not have interview me itself. This can as honest an advice as it can be, take it or leave it. I just had a waste of 5 days in my life
