needlessly excessive and disorganized hiring process. First you have to answer email questions. Next, a telephone interview.
While on the interview was called by another number several times. After concluding the interview, checked VM and found it was another interviewer. Called back. Neither interviewer was aware of the other.
Each described the job differently. One was very positive about the nature of the team and mentoring. The other was more reserved and cautioned against excessive questioning of team members lest there be annoyance. One asked a reasonable amount of tech term questions. The other spent 15 to 20minutes doing the same. One promoted the great diversity of subjects to learn about. The other said one mostly monitors systems looking for breakages. One described the work life balance as fair, though informed of high hours and overtime opportunities during launch periods. The other over-stressed the hours required for extended periods of time during the same in an intimidating manner.
Was graduated to the next stage, only to be told I had to write an essay about why join the company, prepare a one hour long presentation about oneself with Q and A session....in front of a virtual panel. Last step 30min with each panelist (number undisclosed).
All this for a non research, non executive, non managerial position that pays hourly at rate from below average to average.
no interest in feedback from HR if you decline to continue the hiring process.
