I applied through other source. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Oct 2017
Interview
I briefly met with one of the managers and had a behavior interview. We talked about tech, but didn't not do any algorithm questions. Once I got past that I got called in for an interview that lasted about 2:30 hours. I met with other senior managers and chatted with them one on one. Didn't really do any algorithm questions during those discussions. We did discuss tech stacks, and why we would use one technology over another one though.
After that I received a take home assignment, which required me to build a small web application using React and Redux. I was applying for a frontend role which made sense. The application was a stock screener that retrieved data from an API that they had suggested and displayed some Security Information.
After that I received the offer.
