I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Toronto, ON) in March-2010.

    Interview

There are three round interviews. First round, 1:1 interview with the director. The questions include the regular resume questions, and some technical questions. After the questions, the director gave me two books to read and would test me again after reading these two book for three days. I spent two days on that, and got the basic idea. Then, I went to interview with the director again, and got tested on the knowledge on the book and the questions mainly to test my fast-learning and understanding abilities. Then, I went to interview with the manager and he tested me some math questions. Two days after that, I was informed to interview with the senior VP. He is quite satisfied with my performance in the interview performance.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Toronto, ON) in November-2011.

    Interview

    4 interviews:

    Screening interview
Interview with direct manager (Technical Interview)
    interview with department director
    Interview with VP (Fit)

Interviews were quite thorough. A transcript was required, and the first interview was a series of technical questions. From there, interviews were with progressively senior people, with the last one being with a VP. This was mostly a chat and fit interview and lasted only about 15 minutes.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group (Toronto, ON) in November-2015.

    Interview

I had a phone interview from third party 1 week after my application online. Since I was sick and wasn't prepared, interview was not good and the interviewer clearly told me to try next time. But I was surprised to get a call for face to face interview with hiring manager after few weeks. Hiring manager was busy so other two members interviewed me. I was again called for another interview with the hiring managers. They interviewed me separately. They asked some business case questions and behavioral questions. The wired thing was that, I received a cancellation email of the same interview request in the evening that I had just gave in the morning. I was clueless what was going on with the process.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at BMO Financial Group.

    Interview

The hiring process is fairly standard... Once you make it by the HR phone interview they had a 1hr face to face interview with me in which they tell you more about the role and see if you can add examples where you've done similar work in the past. Once that was finished I got called in for a final interview with a Senior Manager who asked very high level questions just to make sure his hiring manager didn't miss anything and that was it.

    Interview Questions

    • No business case for my position, they did tell me about a previous problem that they had to resolve and before telling me how they resolved it they asked me to explain how I would have dealt with it. But as interviews go they stayed away from the hard case study questions.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Initial Offer = Too low compared to what my research said so I asked for 5k more
Final offer = They removed the signing bonus and added that amount to my yearly salary.
