Fairly straightforward, you had to either know what you were doing or be very dedicated to learning. I applied first online, then went in to talk to the manager. At the time I didn't know a ton about bike mechanics, but I knew enough to be useful which is what they were looking for. Definitely express a willingness to learn as you go.
