Recruiter reached out and immediately set up a phone screening for that same day. The interview process was very quick after that. I had an interview by the next week, then the day after my initial interview, I spoke to the hiring manager again via Teams. At the end of the follow-up, the hiring manager offered me the job. I received a follow-up email from the recruiter a few days later.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Amtrak (Washington, DC)
Interview
Panel interviews using only behavioral questions which was really odd. I didn’t fully understand the job and didn’t feel like I could ask many job related questions. Some of the questions weren’t relevant and the process overall is quite antiquated.

Question 1
Explain a time you had to use problem solving to complete a project.
The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Amtrak
Interview
The interview seemed a big disorganized and the panel seemed to have a hard time figuring out who was handling some of the questions. I was told at the end of the interview that I would need to provide a writing sample based on a specific scenario they provided. This needed to be submitted within 24 hours, which is not sufficient time to deliver a new work product, especially in the middle of the workweek. I did not hear back from the recruiter after the interview, but at least received their automated rejection email.
