Interview

There were two rounds of interviews each of which were eliminative in nature. The first round was conducted by a Senior Manager which involved puzzles and SQL related questions. The second round was conducted by another senior person (possibly director or vice president). This round involved questions mainly around the CV and tried to find the differentiating factor that would set the candidate apart from his/her peers

Selection test of quant and business problem, two rounds of interview both of the type technical+HR. Be thorough with machine learning concepts, probability and statistics and quant. You can get the answer to the questions by clicking on it. However, there was a limit on the number of clicks. Using the results of all the answers, you have to select the best-suited solution for the problem statement out of the given options. The score was based on the solution you selected and how many relevant questions you clicked on.

  • Why Amex? 2. You have a decent CGPA and industrial as well as research experience in your core subject. So the core job in your stream is best suited for you. So why are you switching your field? 3. What do you know about working of credit cards? -- In this, I also mentioned how Amex is better than it's competitors Mastercard and VISA because I missed that in the first question. 4. They gave me the choice whether I would like to answer one tough question or a number of simple questions. I chose 1 tough question there. They ask me a question related to probability which I can't recall now. 5. Why are you suitable for this job? I was not clear regarding the job profiles they were offering. So I honestly told them that The job description was not so clear to me. So he explained me the 4 fields in which they were working and asked me about my interest with reason. 6. In answering the previous question, I mentioned that I knew a bit of data analytics. So they asked me to orally solve a dataset. They were just checking instantaneous thinking ability... The discussion was quite participative from both ends. 7. Then, they asked how I got interested in data analytics. I defended it by referring to an elective I took in 3rd year. Also, I told them how it was beneficial during my research intern. At last, they asked me regarding my background and also told me about themselves in detai
