Does University of British Columbia offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Great benefits package, including pension, life insurance and professional development fund.

Cons

They did not offer a hybrid model, even though I started my job remotely and worked remotely for almost a year. When things re-opened, I was forced to go back to the office for no reason, and was only allowed to work remotely 1 day a week.

Advice to Management

Adjust to the new times.

Does University of British Columbia offer parental leave?

Pros

Plenty of seminars and courses for career development. Nice campus.

Cons

Salary is low, you will most likely be working full time while loosing money.. If you enjoy things like paid vacation days, sick leave and parental leave then you are better off going to central / northern Europe. Postdocs have lower status than in Europe.
