- tough to have a healthy work-life balance, if you want to be successful you have to make many sacrifices - a bro culture, you have to play the game, a lot of favoritism and toxic behavior from the people leadership - a lot of red tape; most of their promotions happen when people give their resignation or indicate that they will be leaving - very performance/metric-driven, and if you don't perform, there are no hesitations about letting you go - a no-trust environment - scandalous employee turn-over rate

Pros

Pros: - you can get involved in a lot of stuff if you put yourself out there - there's a good amount of meetings per week to stay in sync with your team - coworkers are very knowledgeable, trusting, and supportive - big fan of All Hands (company-wide meeting) because it keeps me in loop with the company - big fan of special guests that come in every month to talk about their area of specialty (very informative) and teach you what to do with that knowledge - love their benefits coverage and PTO days - good culture

Cons

Cons: - to do well in this environment, you have to be creative and resourceful sometimes; lots of problem-solving involved - things can sometimes be all over the place so you have to do a lot of searching to find what you're looking for and its essential to be organized yourself - must be comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment that can sometimes be ambiguous - you do get support from your coworkers but ultimately, you have to do things and figure things out by yourself - some processes seem inefficient now but it is clear that there is effort being done to make them simple and efficient - can be demotivating to see people leave often

Hearing customers talk about the work they've been able to do using Top Hat is so motivating. * Amazing colleagues - Top Hat hires incredibly smart, driven and caring people * Career growth: I started as an individual contributor and have had tremendous opportunity to learn and grow in my years at Top Hat. There are plenty of challenges to tackle, and lots of opportunities for those who work hard. * Recently introduced parental leave benefits for tenured Top Hatters shows a willingness to invest in and support employees who have stuck with the company

Cons

* Focus: as an ambitious company with big goals, we're good at pivoting and responding, but the flip side is that we're not always great at prioritizing fewer things and focusing on them. * This environment is not for people looking to pass the time in a 9-to-5. You'll get to work alongside hard-working, motivated colleagues but there is LOTS to get done. * Change is a constant. That can be really exciting (I've never had the chance to be bored here!) but can also be unsettling at times.

Pros

Very smart coworkers (many Harvard MBAs and PhDs from top schools), meaningful work, empowering level of autonomy, strong product offerings with high market demand, nice office, great company events
