How are the career development opportunities at The Salvation Army?

Pros

Some nice people, quite easy work

Cons

They will keep you as a temp for years, some people were on temporary contracts after 5 years of working there. Management is unprofessional, and there is no interest in making it a good place to work or making employees feel valued. There are no pay rises or opportunity for progression whilst top management earns very high salaries.

Advice to Management

Modernise your processes, pay a reasonable wage and this may be a place that people want to continue working at

The Salvation Army gives you the opportunity to meet new people from all kinds of different life styles. It's a great place to work with awesome people the work here. Great organization to work for.

Why do The Salvation Army employees quit?

Pros

They help those in need. They help employees as much and as far as they can from extreme discounts to free for home furniture, appliances, clothing, food etc. Very homely and family environment. Open door policy makes it easy, as does the overall atmosphere, to speak with whomever you need regarding any situation. Always understanding when life situations arise.

Cons

Not much room for advancement unless someone quits or gets terminated. Some management is in need of proper training when having to deal with customer and employee problems.

Advice to Management

Some managers have no actual management training when it comes to critical thinking in an adverse situation or preventing a bad incident from occurring.
