Does Relocity offer an employee assistance or workplace counselling program?

Pros

Great people to work with, a very team oriented culture. Everyone wears multiple hats and is very invested in seeing the company and their colleagues do well. Lots of opportunity for growth. Flexible work from home policy. Very competent management who are all in the top of their field and know how to bring out the strengths in the company. Upper management is accessible and easy to work with.

Cons

Company seems to be growing faster than the benefits it offers employees. Bare minimum holiday and vacation, no 401k matching, no wellness or work from home stipend, not many morale boosting offerings. Not diverse in background or in thought.

Advice to Management

The people are the backbone of this company, treat them like it! Newsletter shoutouts are great, but reward people with tangibles. (401k match, stock options, increasing holiday time, performance related incentives, group activities)

Does Relocity offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

Work from home, good salary, nice benefits like 401k, insurance, flexibility in schedule to work at leisure

Cons

The timekeeping system is not good. You have to clock in/out for every piece of work you do, and sometimes it becomes challenging figuring out how to log hours for different types of work to ensure you get paid. They also discourage "admin" hours, or hours when you are not clocked in doing client work, which leads to you working for free. This is illegal and dangerous. They need to fix this.

Advice to Management

Fix your timekeeping system and stop discouraging employees to have "admin" hours just because you don't want to pay them for it out of your pockets. Paying employees a weekly admin hour rate would keep us from working for free, and you out of any potential legal issues.

Does Relocity assist with or provide childcare?

Pros

Pros: Hourly pay is about $30/hour If you are organized, you can do it efficiently. You can do most of the work remotely. Would be a great job for someone who is looking to re-enter the work force, do a job a few hours a day that is low-stakes. The clients can be lovely. Interesting-ish work - you're dealing with successful people working at Apple or Netflix and spending a lot of time on Zillow.

Cons

I'll start with the training, it's a week and mostly self-guided and dumps a ton of info on you without any context so you'll be learning about what to do when closing a client when you don't have one or know when you'll get one or really know anything. They need to significantly improve this. You'll get your first client before you're ready and this isn't a"start before your ready" thing, like genuinely you have too many questions and have no idea what you're doing and don't have the support. Everyone knows the training doesn't work but they'll go on about how amazing is it that they were able to make everything remote in a week for the pandemic, bs. They talk a big talk about how flexible the work is and it's true you are in charge of your calendar for the most part, but it is not really a part-time job and it swings on both ends of the spectrum. Most of the work is busy work, you'll be faking time sheets and bookings left and right and sometimes you'll have 8 hours of work a week when you're expecting 20. Other times, you're totally swamped and expected to provide a huge emotional undertaking of these clients who can be nasty. Let's face it, at the end of the day, this job is to help clients with their relocation, but some of the clients expect you to do EVERYTHING for them like they won't even look on their own for a home, they expect you to do it all even though it's a small package and then they'll claim you aren't helpful at all when you're doing more than your pay grade. For the most part though the clients are more understanding than the management. I understand it's a business and metrics are important but the level of micromanaging is quit-worthy frustrating. You'll be asked why you didn't reply to an email quick enough, constantly questioned why you didn't do more? They expect you to read client's minds and to baby them. THIS IS A PART TIME JOB. Here's the thing with Relocity, they'll talk a big game about how important it is to take care of yourself and how they really listen to their workers, they say all the right things but it's all fake At the end of the day, you are not getting paid enough money to survive, there are no benefits and you are expected to work like it's a full-time job at a company where there is no growth. The turnover is insane - most people only stay about 3 months so it could be great if you only need a temporary position (obviously don't mention that in the interview) but it's because everyone is unhappy and overworked. Last thing, don't be fooled by these bs ratings talking about gamechanging work or how when you have an innovative company, there's bound to be downsides, high-tech technology haha HR is writing these interviews and it shows. Trust the 1 star reviews!

Advice to Management

There is no incentive to stay at a company that has such unreasonable expectations of its part-time workers. Relocity is relentlessly frustrating. Either pay your workers more or expect less. This is no Relocity without the hosts so treat them better.
