Does Q4 offer vacation time?

Pros

-The unlimited PTO is good although the more you take, the more it's frowned upon even if you worked your butt off -SOME of the people you work with are great and the social activities you do with the good people are fun -Office location

Cons

-Very toxic at the leadership level and at the director level. Genuinely not interested in hearing new ideas on how to run things or take in new ideas or suggestions. What started out as a good experience ended terribly. One moment you receive excellent feedback on your performance and what you bring to the table and the next, it goes in complete reverse with no real explanation given. No chance given to correct either. Incompetent and inexperienced management is mainly to blame for this -Managers and leaders in many departments have favourites and ignore other people who have their heads down working hard trying to do a good job, have proven their worth and continue to do so. Favourites get promotions and special attention, while hard-working and talented non-favourites (often the vocal ones) get reprimanded or criticised/yelled at. Don't work here if you value any independent thought and you work hard and do a good job yet if you're not in the inner circle of senior and upper management, you won't advance anywhere and it's actually the opposite

Advice to Management

Smart people will have some good ideas to bring to the table. Don't just play favorites and listen to those who you're closer friends with. Especially if those ideas worked before and you were happy with them. Don't just listen to favourites who dismiss all other ideas and then you just let people go. That creates a toxic and negative work environment

-The unlimited PTO is good although the more you take, the more it's frowned upon even if you worked your butt off

How are senior leaders perceived at Q4?

Pros

Great location Great group of people, some of the best I have had the opportunity to work with Challenging and rewarding work Ability to work from home Career opportunities, if you're willing to work for it Q4 is set up for certain individuals to thrive, they tend to be people who know what they want and go after it, as opposed to those who idly sit by and expect things to fall on their lap. I've read a lot of negative reviews on Glassdoor and wouldn't give half of them any merit. The senior managers I have worked with, are smart, approachable and down to earth. It's a great place to build a career if you know what you want and aren't afraid to go after it. Entrepreneurial spirit is rewarded. The CEO is not only approachable, but accessible to everyone in the company. I don't think enough people take advantage of this. From my experience, he cares about his employees and every time I have approached him with issues from salary through to career development, he has diplomatically worked with me to come up with a mutually beneficial solution.

Cons

Q4 is not for everyone. At times this can be a high stress job with no end in sight. The tech sector we operate in, is ever changing which translates into a lot of daily challenges. If you want a cosy, predictable job, this is not the place for you. As with most companies, bad decisions have been made and the ramifications of those decisions trickle downhill. I don't know if this is a con or just a fact of work life.

Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your employees. You have a great group of eager and smart people looking for the next career step. A more defined career path should be visible for certain departments. Continue to leverage analytics and data to make the right business decisions.

The CEO is not only approachable, but accessible to everyone in the company.

How are the career development opportunities at Q4?

Pros

This is the first time in my life I actually enjoy coming to work. - The coworkers are amazing; Q4 seems to be very good at hiring people who are all very helpful, welcoming, friendly, and hard-working - Management is really good at making sure you are looked after during the onboarding process; they are really open to questions, they're transparent with any updates or expectations, and they really care about you as an individual. - The company has a strong focus on ensuring their employees are happy and engaged and they are constantly coming up with small things to really get their employees involved and to show each person is valued (ex. you have little branded lego men on a lego platform with your name on them and any time you pass a milestone or participate in an event you get a lego block to add to your platform_ - all the food and amazing coffee - dogs in the office - the benefits are amazing and they are very flexible with working remotely - They promote learning and career development so you often find members of teams have moved to different teams throughout their years at Q4. - Did I mention the amazing people?

Cons

None so far. One thing, you need to be able to adapt to change (as things move fast here) but for me, that is not a con.

Advice to Management

Keep it up, keep investing in your employees and they will strive to do their best for you. This honestly is the greatest place I have ever worked; I didn't realize a workplace could be like this.

How are promotions handled at Q4?

Pros

Q4 truly values its employees, provides a real professional and personal development. The company does believe in its mission statement, which is so impactful. The senior leadership team cares for their employees, always putting us first. The focus on work life balance is incredible. The energy of the work environment is upbeat and inclusive. There is also frequent internal promotions for pre-existing employees, which I feel is super valuable. From other side, the workplace is very fun, I really enjoy all companies events, which are hold constantly. Teams host also employee appreciation events like lunches and team building events which help keep the team unified. Even now, while WFH due to quarantine, company provides people with many different interesting virtual events, presentations, games, contests etc. what give people better understanding of the situation and much happier feelings. While working from the office ( before pandemic) the kitchen in the office was always fully stocked with cool healthy snacks. I feel calm and busy in the office and able to get my work done and enjoy my day. Q4 is a fantastic place to work, consisting of transparent leadership and an incredible company culture.

Cons
