Does PointClickCare have an on site gym?

Pros

There are so many pros about this place and I'll try to list a few: 1- Very modern workplace with open space concept, onsite gym, Pool table, Ping pong table, Air hockey, play station, virtual golf, employee lounge , etc. 2- Company has been growing for the past few years and considering the client base, the expectation is to continue to grow 3- Amazing employee on-boarding program , they invest a lot of time and effort for the employee to feel that they are part of a family and this is not just another job 4- Executives are very engaged and you can see the president having lunch in the cafeteria with everyone else 5- A lot of amazing perks including subsidized lunch, free snacks, drink, coffee, etc.

Cons

The company still operates like a startup in many areas. there are good initiatives to address this issue but if you are used to a very structured and well managed process oriented environment, a lot of things might frustrate you. Like any other modern company, there is a trade-off when you are receiving these many perks in the office ; this is not a 9-5 job. expect to spend longer hours in the office and get the job done but it's a nice office so you might not mind spending more time in it.

Advice to Management

Great job! but as you are fully aware, what got the company to this point will not necessarily get us to next step. need to get out of startup mode to move toward a billion dollar company.

What is it like working with clients or customers at PointClickCare?

Pros

- Amenities are great, lots of things to do at the Headquarters. - Good people that work with you - Expanding and buying out companies, seem to be number one in the Senior HealthCare Industry.

Cons

- Biggest joke is that HR expects new employees to put up reviews on Glassdoor in the 1st or 2nd month of being hired at the company. Ofcourse everyone is going to give great reviews as you have subsidised food, booze, ping pong, pool, gaming consoles... Who would not give great reviews during their honeymoon phase. - We have unlimited vacations stipulated by HR, but the management in the department has other ideas, they say we have limited vacation and if anyone takes more vacation than others then they will be reviewed. - Different pay scales for people doing the same job, new hires joining with new title's which were promised to the rest of the team. Its a year later and nothing has happened. The new teammates are working on emerging technologies and experimenting which the rest of the team could have done as well. They have no clue what they are doing but yet get payed more even though the rest of the team are working with the core application environments. - The department I am working at is in shambles. Lots of poeple have quit but to the rest of the company they only talk about how many new people they have hired. The situation is the same in other departments when talking to other colleagues. - People in the department are all in fear for their jobs, no one is really enjoying their work anymore. This is not the way it should be, you need to enjoy your job in order to do anything for your employer. - Lots of new management, who are bringing in their own people, preferential treatment for them. - It's review time now, lots of people are on performance improvement plans so that their pay raises and bonuses will be reduced or be null, this money will be redirected to the favourites. - Lots of games being played which does not make a very effective place to work. It's really unfortunate things are the way they are. It was a great place to work, I had/have great colleagues. Lot's of them are leaving or are leaving. - We are in IT, we get called after hours since we support the end customers, the hours expected to be worked after hours is quite ridiculous and the compensation is a joke. Every company worked at previously payed by the hour for after hours work, this place give's you a paltry sum for the week (with unlimited amount of hours of work) - Unrealistic goals for projects.

Advice to Management

- You have talent, take care of your talent. - Appreciate your staff and get them training and take care of them. Stop with the games.
