What is the salary like at PointClickCare?

Pros

Great company culture with several benefits and perks outside of your base salary. It’s a horizontal organizational culture where your opinion is valued irrespective of your title. They handled the Covid crisis very diligently with special programs to assist employees whose families got impacted during the crisis. The owners of the company are two brothers and the most humble executives I have come across (something unseen in corporate US). I left the organization due to change in my career path but have great respect for this company’s culture and values.

Cons

Can't think of a particular one

Advice to Management

Please continue the same values and culture and hope this sets example for other organizations too!

Does PointClickCare offer a weekly bonus?

Pros

- Amenities are great, lots of things to do at the Headquarters. - Good people that work with you - Expanding and buying out companies, seem to be number one in the Senior HealthCare Industry.

Cons

- Biggest joke is that HR expects new employees to put up reviews on Glassdoor in the 1st or 2nd month of being hired at the company. Ofcourse everyone is going to give great reviews as you have subsidised food, booze, ping pong, pool, gaming consoles... Who would not give great reviews during their honeymoon phase. - We have unlimited vacations stipulated by HR, but the management in the department has other ideas, they say we have limited vacation and if anyone takes more vacation than others then they will be reviewed. - Different pay scales for people doing the same job, new hires joining with new title's which were promised to the rest of the team. Its a year later and nothing has happened. The new teammates are working on emerging technologies and experimenting which the rest of the team could have done as well. They have no clue what they are doing but yet get payed more even though the rest of the team are working with the core application environments. - The department I am working at is in shambles. Lots of poeple have quit but to the rest of the company they only talk about how many new people they have hired. The situation is the same in other departments when talking to other colleagues. - People in the department are all in fear for their jobs, no one is really enjoying their work anymore. This is not the way it should be, you need to enjoy your job in order to do anything for your employer. - Lots of new management, who are bringing in their own people, preferential treatment for them. - It's review time now, lots of people are on performance improvement plans so that their pay raises and bonuses will be reduced or be null, this money will be redirected to the favourites. - Lots of games being played which does not make a very effective place to work. It's really unfortunate things are the way they are. It was a great place to work, I had/have great colleagues. Lot's of them are leaving or are leaving. - We are in IT, we get called after hours since we support the end customers, the hours expected to be worked after hours is quite ridiculous and the compensation is a joke. Every company worked at previously payed by the hour for after hours work, this place give's you a paltry sum for the week (with unlimited amount of hours of work) - Unrealistic goals for projects.

Advice to Management

- You have talent, take care of your talent. - Appreciate your staff and get them training and take care of them. Stop with the games.

What are other benefits and incentives like at PointClickCare?

Pros

Meaningful work with a strong mission and values. Really strong engineering teams and managers. Honest desire to improve delivery capabilities - they are taking a pragmatic/educated approach to doing it. People first culture - I was skeptical when I started but they really walk the talk. Big focus on manager development and improvement. Awesome response to COVID (WFH) while acknowledging the challenges it presents (think "People first" again). Not afraid to change things that aren't working (likely cause of some of the lower ratings here). Even though it is a large organization, it is relatively easy to work across and with other teams as needed to get things done. Decent benefits and compensation

Cons

Haven't come across any yet.

Advice to Management

Keep going and stay true to your values. I think it is working and the market will reward you.

Does PointClickCare offer a yearly bonus?

Pros

Good relationship between colleagues on my team

Cons

You're only recognized when you do something wrong. Any accomplishments are seen as norm since there are so many high performing employees but it is very discouraging to never be praised or told you are valued as an employee while working 60 plus hours a week. The yearly rating system is designed for failure, hardly allowing anyone to get a raise without specifics as to why, just a "do better next year" excuse. You're left on your own to figure out issues without assistance for fear of going to your management team because they will put you on a "needs improvement" list for asking questions.

Advice to Management

Don't forget each team that works so hard to make each part of the company move forward. Pay attention to newer employees to find out how they are adjusting to PCC life and get advice from them on how training internally could be improved.
