How are promotions handled at OnStar?
Pros
Company vehicle, Every employee gets the week of Christmas Off, National Meetings. Get to consult with Millionaire owners and high level staff to implement processes.
Cons
contract employee, low wages, bonuses are rigged and you compete against everyone for them, they don't measure on your performance improvement - they only care if you are #1, micromanaging, THEY WILL MAKE YOU WORK during your VACATION (must keep your phones on), Corporate is a Boys Club with NO DIVERSITY. You get reimbursed - So, you are responsible for your Gas and account gifts and have to expense them to get your $$ back. The General Motors team members are rude to you because you are a contractor. The dealerships can be a nightmare to work at. The majority of them are full of people who wouldnt pass the chick fil a test. Not a woman friendly or family friendly job - Regional managers insist on having meetings at 8am - which is difficult to manage when you are getting kids out the door. Promotions are blocked, people are true gatekeepers. Kiss major tail if you want to get out of thier paws. If you get promoted, they want to send you to places that are not known to be safe for people of color. It is almost like a hazing. Job i best suited for a recent High School Grad. They require a degree and do not pay livable wages.
Advice to Management
Increase wages, convert position to a GM position, provide acutal field support, develop your team for actual promotions, HIRE MORE PEOPLE of Color. Everyone can not be White.
