Does MNP offer massages?

Pros

Free coffee, staff events, good benefits, some paid lunches/breakfast

Cons

Awkward unfriendly HR staff, poor under-qualified management, bullying is promoted, toxic work environment, no job security, hierarchy, they make you feel like every mistake or error is because of you. It's an every person for themselves type feeling. Micro managing, lack of trust. Hostile. Cleaning up after higher ups. Lazy management. Would not recommend this job to anyone.

Advice to Management

Trust your employees and they will trust you. Mistakes are made, maybe it is what they were taught to do, maybe show them the right way or make a suggestion instead of scolding. Uplift your employees instead of degrading them, this makes you look like you see people who are more qualified as a threat to your position. You are there to manage, not make yourself look good. Pay more attention to the good efforts and extra time staff puts in, not the one silly mistake they made. Ignore office comments, and offer support. Be friendly, in a non fake way. Think before you confront an employee about what another staff member said about them, that person may have made a mistake themselves and wanted to avoid looking stupid; understand there are two sides to every story and higher title doesn't mean their side is true. Treat everyone EQUALLY. Work on yourself.

Does MNP offer parental leave?

Pros

I joined MNP just over four years ago. I have witnessed and experienced the opportunity for the personal and professional growth and career progression that MNP boasts. MNP supports team members in both work and life through a number of total rewards, perks and a focus on the values that are the foundation of the Firm, which includes FUN. Personally, I have valued the ability to balance the demands of being a single parent of a young child, and having the flexibility to get the work done, sometimes outside of regular hours. MNP promotes team members to Partner while they are on Maternity Leave! That speaks volumes of the Firm's commitment to promoting based on talent, and encouraging team members to lead balanced lives, particularly women. MNP's culture is inclusive, promotes diversity, and truly is entrepreneurial.

Cons

Four years ago I was brand new to the accounting/tax world. Understanding business cycles has shown me that there are times of year that can be more challenging to navigate, in terms of workload or priorities. However, this could be true of any professional services firm.

Advice to Management

Engagement Surveys are a great way to solicit feedback from team members when considering policy and program evolution. The multi-generational makeup of MNP provides a breadth of expertise, experience and insight that should be leveraged as often as possible. Also, embrace the digital experience for clients and team members wherever possible.

Does MNP offer a wellness program?

Pros

Good benefits and events. Varied nature of work.

Cons

Understaffed. Daily mandatory timesheets. Unrealistic budgets and hours. Sink or swim engagements. Internal office politics and bickering.

Advice to Management

Need to balance approach between managing clients and managing the staff.
