Does Long View Systems offer vision insurance?

Pros

They had a free drinks fridge

Cons

The only way to get an actual pay raise is to leave the company and join again a year later. They refuse to get meaningful pay raises unless there's a job title change however most "promotions" leave you with the same title of systems analyst. Can easily go through 10+ supervisors and managers while working there for a few years. Not due to them being promoted usually by them leaving.

Does Long View Systems offer vacation time?

Pros

Work from home Comparable wage for entry level tech position

Cons

I was hired for a 9ish month service desk contract (April - December) to support a large client. I was hired for the night shift as the company required 24/7 support. I was told in my interview that I would only be handling support calls from North America. I was hired for a "trial period" where this large client was testing out Long View's services, with the understanding that they would sign a long-term contract at the end of the year. When they signed, Long View intended to convert me to a full time position, which I was told during my interview was "a sure thing." I went through ~3 months of classroom-style training to learn the company's systems and expectations. We were taught basic functionality and support for a number of proprietary systems, but told that the job would require a large amount of learn-as-you-go, which is fine. Near the end of my training I was pulled into a meeting and told my contract was being extended through to May. I asked if this was going to push back my full-time conversion and I was told "We're doing this so that you don't have to worry about your employment status over the holidays." The service desk launched at the end of June. I logged in at 10pm and received a message maybe 5 minutes later from someone in Bangalore. They were asking about a software I had never heard of. I did my best to help this person and then immediately contacted my manager. My manager informed me that I was not actually just taking North American calls, but calls for the North American service desk. For reasons that are unimportant to the story, this includes North America, large chunks of India, parts of China, and the Philippines. The Asian teams were using software that was not covered during our training process. This was a surprise to me. I was told to treat it as a learning experience. After that first night, management ghosted the night shift. We were left with team leads and technical leads who were often as in the dark as I was. Team Leads were instructed to micromanage to a degree that I have not seen at any other job. The leaders that treated me like a functional adult were relocated to different positions. We were also chronically understaffed, which got worse as people started quitting. Morale was at zero and management "couldn't figure out why." I applied for other positions internally and after interviewing well I got the runaround for 6 weeks (!!!) before finding out from a friend in another department that my service desk had a hiring freeze placed on it because so many people were trying to transfer out. Less than a week before Christmas I was told that Long View couldn't come to an agreement with their client and the service desk was being scrapped. The contract extension was, as I had suspected, worthless. Management said they would try to find us all other positions in the company. Out of over 50 people that I worked with I'm aware of 4 that got other positions.

Does Long View Systems offer massages?

Pros

Met a few good coworkers. There are free pop and coffee if you work at the LVS office.

Cons

I'm not sure where the salary of 68K for a Systems Consultant came from. I was with LVS for over five years and my annual salary was 52K. The salary increase each year did not keep with the cost of inflation. The salary increase was usually 1 percent. The other posted reviews are accurate, employees that work offsite (at clients' locations) are revenue-generating bodies and nothing more.

Advice to Management

Improve compensation for employees who are valuable to LVS and put in 100% when at clients' sites.
