Does Linamar offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Can’t think of any to list

Cons

Too many to list them all. General Manager berates people during meetings, other managers undermine each other, employees expected to use all of their vacation time during shutdown and the rest is unpaid. Employees expected to take work home with them that is unpaid. They don’t accept more than 2 sick days per despite government regulations. They expect you to lie to customers and auditors. By far the worst benefits package in the industry. Very toxic and stressful work environment.

Put the employees first instead of the bottom line

Pay has been increased! New Management! They pay 90% of your insurance. 615 employees and going strong!

It is hot work in the plant.

What is health insurance like at Linamar?

Pros

Easy going environment, great learning environment for Mechanical Engineers. Friendly people, insurance benefits and 401k are competitive, shut down around Christmas. electrification work is exciting,

Cons

minimal increases each year unless you're in the good old boys group and/or devote your life to the company (60 hour weeks), lack of vacation time, no site wide goals or direction, siloed worked, no opportunity for advancement, management doesn't know what's going on

Advice to Management

figured out long term goals and stick with them, understand the company brand, listen to employees, better hybrid/flexibility scheduling and more vacation time.

Friendly people, insurance benefits and 401k are competitive, shut down around Christmas.

Does Linamar offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Lots of OT, they will pay for part time courses to advance knowledge, good experience

Cons

Cheap compared to other companies, machine operators are barely trained and crashing machines, high turn over rate.

Advice to Management

Give better incentives, rate per part for piece work needs to change. The pay scale from operator-line set up-setup technician is very poor and almost the same pay causing lots of people to not want to move up. Start investing for long term and not short term. We waste so much money saving 100$ today but spending 1000$ tomorrow.
