Does Lightspeed offer dental insurance?

Pros

* Pay is great and you get company stock on top of that (if you stay at the company after 1 year). * Fully remote work with the option to work at the office if you desire. But WFH has helped me become more productive overall both in and out of work. Perfect environment. * The majority of the people in the company are wonderful and helpful. * The company are very transparent in their values and what’s expected from us and themselves. * Very encouraging environment. Any negatives are turned into a positive. * Weekly huddles with the team which definitely helps with morale and team spirit as well as address any issues that management may have noticed. * Free therapy as well as private medical and dental insurance. * Monthly town halls where you can submit a question to the top executives including the CEO. * Progressive company. * Open and transparent. You don’t ever feel like being too awkward to ask anything. In fact, you learn to be very open and upfront. * Although the company preaches growth, I’m too new to see this but veterans of the company I know of started from the bottom and have made a name for themselves within the company! * The people you work with are great. * Work-life balance is great. I’ve only had the occasional slack message during a day off but work stops when my shift comes to an end.

Cons

* The company have already acknowledged and are working on this: Training was dire. Not a lot of people make it out. If you do… you’re built different because the software is overwhelmingly complex. Especially with what the company expects you to learn. * Lunch is only 30 minutes whereas the other support teams and higher ups get 45 minutes minimum. But we get two 15 minute breaks so not the end of the world. * Turnover rate is very high right now. Lots of people from the department leaving the company. * Customers can be very difficult, including when it’s an complex issue or they’re already frustrated before you pick up the call. And especially if it’s related to the sales side of things which is out of your control.

Advice to Management

* Although there’s a lot of chaos at the moment, the new hires and changes within the company are a great assurance that the department and the company as a whole is in great hands and seeing the results already is assuring. * To have joined this company from a toxic workplace was a dream come true. This is a perfect environment and I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of the Lightspeed journey. * This for the executives… please consider 4 days workdays! If you want more productivity and happier employees, this is how you would get it so don’t say you won’t consider it when it’s a highly popular perk for big companies right now. Happier employees = a more safer company in the long run!

Free therapy as well as private medical and dental insurance.

Does Lightspeed offer parental leave?

Pros

Flexible time off Free food at the Montreal office Good maternity leave benefits

Cons

- Most employees underpaid. Not on par with tech companies, well below industry standards. - Unless at the GM/VP level, people don’t feel like they truly matter. - Company tries to push the culture of “you shouldn’t be here for the salary. You should want to be here to help the company succeed”. Lol - When any discussion related to compensation is brought up, the narrative is always to wait until “next comp cycle”. When that cycle is reached, people are often left feeling disappointed. - Poor organization internally. Created a bunch of complexities in their org structure only to lay off people at a later time claiming org structure is too complex.

Advice to Management

Please listen to your people and take what they say seriously. Give people a reason to want to work hard for your company. Take care of your employees, the people who day in and day out try to push your company forward.

Does Lightspeed offer a wellness program?

Pros

The individuals in middle management are fantastic leaders and the teams I’ve worked with in support and implementation are fantastic, hardworking people. The unlimited time off and wellness benefits are great.

Cons

It is the general consensus among the staff that the pay is below market value for the work being done, and recent lay offs have had an effect on morale. The medical benefits are sub par.

The unlimited time off and wellness benefits are great.
