Does Kit and Ace offer employee discounts?

Pros

- Some amazing people working here - The product is great (+ discount)

Cons

- The amazing people actually never get to be amazing - next level micro management - Direction of the company changes on the regular - Seriously bad communication by management. Like, it’s almost funny but not really because people’s lives are impacted on the other end

Advice to Management

Admitting there is a problem is the first step

How are the career development opportunities at Kit and Ace?

Pros

Great people, the product is nice and you have the chance to learn about the different areas of a retail business (if you show interest). The head office is in a great location and the pay is fair.

Cons

The business growth is slow and the team is small so you will quickly hit a career wall. The strategy isn’t sound so not sure how long the company will be around.

Advice to Management

You can’t erase or change the past, concentrate on what you want to be in the future.

What is the feeling of job security at Kit and Ace?

Pros

Fast pace High growth Lots of learning Very action oriented Great people

Cons

Strategically unsound. Moved more quickly and didn't pick up as quickly as they liked. Obviously mass layoffs didn't help.

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Kit and Ace?

Pros

-company grew extremely fast, and with that came an abundance of interesting work, growth opportunities for current employees, and overall great scope of challenging work - Hiref lots of smart, driven people - Culture was one of autonomy, and relative amount of trust granted to employees (in comparison to larger, less progressive organizations) - opportunity to build a brand

Cons

- The company went through many iterations of brand development and strategy, thus affecting org structures and talent needs during the 3 years of rapid growth. This made for a relatively unstable and unpredictable environment for employees.

Pros

- ability to learn about many aspects of the business - close team (feels like a family) - new leadership and ownership - pivoting away from technical cashmere - new company and brand focus: Technical Apparel for the modern commuter

Cons

- people still associate our business to things that have happened in the past
