What is health insurance like at Harris Computer?

Pros

The Harris Values. Jeff Bender works them into every presentation. I believe in them and love that Number 1 is Respect the Individual. If you work hard, and want other opportunities, they are here.

Cons

Poor merit increases. Staff is demoralized when they don't get a raise. There has never been a cost of living raise, even though our contribution to healthcare benefits increases every year. We kind of lose money every year we don't get raises.

Advice to Management

If you have a solid employee, and want to keep them, give them a merit increase every year. They shouldn't have to wait 2 or 3 years to get a 1.8% raise.

Does Harris Computer offer health savings accounts?

Pros

Great benefits, lots of vacation time, health plan etc.

Cons

Not honest with staff during acquisition. Make you sign an agreement to not say anything negative about them.

What is the retirement plan like at Harris Computer?

Pros

Good Benefits, except 401K that is non existent pretty much.

Cons

This is large company, consisted of many business units. One's experience really depends on the particular BU management. Mine was not that great (to say the least). Management has no idea how to run the software shop, no clue on how to preserve the knowledge and the talent they accrue. When numbers don't add up at the end of the quarter ... there is only one solution ... lay offs. Also there is no bonus or merit increase if you are not in management.

Good Benefits, except 401K that is non existent pretty much.
