Pros

Stable employment, because it is a city owned entity

Cons

1 - Harassment and bullying of females is ignored by HR and senior management. 2 - Sexual harassment is rampant and most managers turn a blind-eye. 3 - If circumstances require an investigation and corrective action, then most often nothing will be addressed by senior management. 4 - Poor work ethic (e.g. lack of productivity) amongst employees is not addressed

Advice to Management

Sexual harassment and bullying training and education needs to be brought into modern times. The poor work culture at Enmax is similar to the 70's and 80's and would make a good case study for a student (or a judge)

Harassment and bullying of females is ignored by HR and senior management.

Pros

Fair pay and good work life balance

Cons

The diversity focus is on gender, nothing on race. Leadership team is is a clique and if you are not in, you are out.

Advice to Management

Hire and promote based on competencies alone!

Pros

Benefits, Vacation and Pension contributions

Cons

Incompetent leadership, the higher you grow in the organization the more you realize that there are few qualified leaders and yet they continue to make critical decisions involving their employees' lives and livelihoods with very little regard. Many roles that were eliminated early in 2021, are now being advertised and recruited for, which indicates a high cost and effort with little return. Efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is performative and is a detriment to overall innovation and growth. Salaries are no longer competitive and the internal inequity will not allow for any pay transparency initiatives.

Advice to Management

Follow the trends and start to hire empathetic and qualified leaders that are confident enough to admit they are mistaken or that they simply do not know. Show accountability and responsibility for your actions. Comparatively, any industry competitive organization is operating with substantially better results and culture, be mindful of why so many of your employees are leaving.

Efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is performative and is a detriment to overall innovation and growth.
