Does Concordia University have a pension plan?

Pros

Good pension plan. Good environmental health and safety personnel.

Cons

Incompetent IITS department engaging in overly corporate behaviour. Human resources cares more about the employers image than resolving any issues. Pay is low compared to other Montreal universities/institutions.

Advice to Management

Mandate central services to support activities instead of impose policies. Mandate human resources to improve the employment quality instead of saving money at any cost.

Good pension plan.

Does Concordia University offer parental leave?

Pros

Very good vacation (22 days to start and a two week shutdown over Christmas). Half day Fridays in the summer for 10 weeks. Hybrid work environment. Excellent maternity leave (52 weeks paid at 93%)

Difficulty for unionized employees to have a career path

Does Concordia University offer a wellness program?

Pros

Unionized position affords generous benefits and severance (if it ever comes down to that). Pension plans.

Cons

Unionized position can curb career advancement, but having a stable job especially during the pandemic more than makes up for it.

Advice to Management

Would really like to see more diversity in upper management and senior director / VP positions.
