You get half off if you work at the location downtown Toronto and they don’t mind giving you free drinks and popcorn, it’s super flexible , very easy to pick up shifts and trade shifts.

Cons

The managers are bias and unfair, they say after 3 months probation youre guaranteed to become a server and from lounge server you can pick from bartender to in seat server in the auditoriums however, that is a lie. Managers don’t promote you, for some people it took them 2 years, others it took 1 year and others took 6, to even become a lounge server. There’s no actual process where they keep you on a track record.

Advice to Management

GM needs to pay attention more closely and hire genuine managers, the young adults working there are really nice people and deserve better.

Internal employees are prioritized if you want to move into another part of the company. You also get to watch movies for free. Salaried employees also get health/dental coverage to a certain extent. Working from home is also an option now as of March 2020.

Upward mobility to higher positions is pretty much non-existent in the customer service office, unless you managed to befriend a manager. You're also doing work for their other partners as well, so basically you're working for 3-4 organizations, but you get paid for just one. Management also like to keep you in the dark when you want concrete answers from them, or they give the vaguest answer possible so you get discouraged from asking them again. Health and Dental plan isn't super clear either, but I can blame that on the insurance provider. Still, keep an eye on your coverage, otherwise you could get hit with medical fees that you thought would be covered. Customers are another story. 50% of them end up being fine, the other 50% make you question their existence. In short, the customer service office is easy to get into, but most of us are only here for the pay cheques, and the healthcare benefits if you managed to get promoted to a full-time position. Other than that, everyone here is burnt out and sick of being used as emotional punching bags for angry customers.
