Does BeMo Academic Consulting offer vacation time?

Pros

Working as an academic consultant at BeMo you have a lot of flexibility and independence. You receive regular feedback from students and your team in order to grow as a mentor and member of the team. BeMo does a great job of recognizing the hard work of its employees.

Cons

For part-time consultants, hours vary from month to month depending on changes in busy season and student needs during the application season. BeMo does a great job of encouraging employees to take on extra projects during slower weeks to expand their role on the team and to achieve more consistent hours.

How are the career development opportunities at BeMo Academic Consulting?

Pros

- Student-centered: you truly get to apply your experience and skills to helping others - what's more fulfilling than that? - Personal development: working with so many different people has enabled me improve my own communication skills! - Independence: set your own availability to establish that coveted better work-life balance. - Career development: great opportunities available if you have the passion and can put in the time and effort.

Cons

- Independence: the flip side to this which is also a pro is that you don't get to see/interact with colleagues on a regular basis. As a job that's entirely WFH, the most you get is email correspondence, but it's just not the same, and not for everyone. - Not entirely flexible: you need to have availability set in advance, so it's not as immediately flexible as you might think. - Fluctuating schedule: since you set your availability in advance, there's no guarantee on what your schedule will actually be. The nature of the job thus requires you to make sure that you are really in charge of your time and schedule.

Career development: great opportunities available if you have the passion and can put in the time and effort.

What kind of career opportunities exist at BeMo Academic Consulting?

Pros

There are many positive aspects to working at BeMo. 1. Autonomy - the job is 100% work from home, which is great because you can work when you want. 2. Ability to provide feedback - everyone, begining from support staff all the way to the owner/CEO is open to employees feedback and suggestions. 3. The rewarding aspect of the work - this line of work allows for a lot of reward when you see the clientele improve based on our work with them. 4. Self development- through my training and working at BeMo what has been fantastic is the growth I have seen in myself. There is always support from management and opportunities to learn and grow. 5 - Collegiality, although we all work in different locations around the world, the upper management puts an emphasis on working together. Surprising, but a very positive aspects.

Cons

Not many at all. Sometimes your schedule varies based on the demands of those we consult for, but this is a very minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Based on my experience it has been working well!

Does BeMo Academic Consulting have any mentoring programs?

Pros

The management team provides thorough training and mentorship throughout the process, continuously making sure that you are on track and content with the work you're doing. Working with the students, and being able to see their growth and increase in confidence is very nice. Good balance in terms of being able to set your own schedule and work from home.

Cons

Not many to be honest, the work does come in seasons (with no fault on BeMo's part) and one would need to be quite independent to succeed and thrive in the job. This may not be the right fit for someone that thrives in an office environment since teh work is remote.

Advice to Management

Keep it up!

The management team provides thorough training and mentorship throughout the process, continuously making sure that you are on track and content with the work you're doing.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at BeMo Academic Consulting?

Pros

In the time I have been working at BeMo, I have learned SO MUCH! You are really challenged to keep learning and growing and gaining new skills. Development and training is really emphasized here and the management team as well as CEO are constantly working with you to discuss career goals and how they can help you achieve them. We work together to figure out what my strengths are and what I enjoy doing most and I am assigned projects that align with these. I work with a fantastic team of support staff, managers, and consultants who all have the same goals and passions of helping students gain acceptance to their dream programs. I have been able to help with support, marketing, social media, data analysis, sales, lots of different software + tools, and much more! * Lots of opportunity for growth and development * Remote work * Fun quarterly get-togethers + dinners * Getting to work with students all over the world * Casual attire :)

Cons

It's not for everyone! It's not for someone looking for a short term role or to make a quick buck. You must be disciplined and able to focus on your own without the need for the managers watching over your shoulder keeping you on track since we don't work in an office with everyone else.
