What is health insurance like at Arizona State University?

Pros

ASU can be a great place to work, or not a great place, workplace culture varies based on department/unit. Some flexibility in start time/hours but depends on unit and function. Good health insurance benefits. Generally good people to work with.

Cons

Used to be more paid holidays and flexibility, now everything is numbers/data driven. University president sees staff as easily replaced. Pay is not great, better at the community college level for the same position (for staff). Admin says they are working to change pay scale, little progress thus far. Difficult to move up within the same unit. Parking is expensive.

Advice to Management

Don't brag about how small staff is compared to student body, then say they are easily replaced during employee appreciation event.

Good health insurance benefits.
