Does there seem to be diversity at Archiact Interactive?

Pros

Wonderful teammates Inclusive culture that is only getting better Supportive HR department Extremely transparent leadership Very cool projects, likely more incoming Flexible hours, remote optional We get to make games!!!

Cons

Pay is on the low side for a tech company in Vancouver Team leads often disagree on their vision for the project There is some crunch expected, tight project timeline

Advice to Management

Work on really honing in and unifying the vision for the project, make sure all team leads are aligned so that their teams can work more efficiently. Continue to listen to marginalized employees, protect them and give them a platform because their voices are what make games diverse and interesting. Stomp on crunch -- if not possible for this project, do it for the next one. It's not ethical. Find a way to pay more. Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities in North America, and our salaries should reflect that.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Archiact Interactive?

Pros

I've worked at Archiact for about a year and have really enjoyed the type of work I am doing and the project we are working on! I'm just getting my start in the games industry and this has been an amazing place to grow- there have been many opportunities to jump in and actually getting to put stuff in action. The company is anti-crunch- if you work after hours, it is often because you personally feel like something has to get done and the company lets you exchange that for time in lieu later on. You can also tell a lot of effort has gone into overhauling their approach to governance. There is a ton of transparency from the leadership of the company- they routinely answer hard questions from staff and there's major work afoot to make the company a welcoming place for LGBTQ staff.

Cons

Remote is both a blessing and a curse- I wish there were more in person social events. Also, we really need more engineers!

there have been many opportunities to jump in and actually getting to put stuff in action.
