Pros

Work-life balance is second to none (I'm not joking, it's incredible) Super flat hierarchy Many smart coworkers Teammates are like family Actively encourages collaboration Breakfast... daily Monthly Lunches Paid Company Outings (Playland, Halloween party etc)

I have been working at D3 Security Management Systems full-time for more than a year

Pros

With a relatively small employee count for the level of quality of product and the magnitude of customers, at D3 you can really feel how your part affects the overall companies health. At D3... information is shared openly across all departments from sales to development. If you want to learn more about what D3 does and what your peers are doing you can simply ask and be granted access to important product details and cyber security scoops. I worked at D3 Security in marketing and sales. In sales D3 employees have open conversation about what works, what doesn't work, new strategies, and ideas to help gain customers. All of this open dialogues creates a very harmonious work environment for the most part. Any ideas employees may come up with that might help better the company can be taken to upper management and evaluated very quickly. I enjoyed how D3 Security's management provides unnecessary services to make their employees feel wanted. For example every Friday D3 Security orders ice-cream, beer and more for each employee, carried in what we called "the great cart". Overall being part of a team responsible for creating leading edge cyber security used by companies across the fortune 500 felt very meaningful to me.

Cons

Although D3 Security creates a great work environment, a-lot of the work done in lower levels of the company and sales is left unmanaged which can create confusion as to what to do at times. The... initial training of employees was not very professional, but once you begin to understand your role and learn more skills the job becomes a-lot easier and enjoyable. There is some confusion in departments at times when individuals do not ask questions to their peers and upper management. Luckily its easy to sit down and talk over any questions or plans you have to upper management, the president, and your peers. If you take initiative when faced by inhibition or unanswered questions you will see how D3 is bettered by it. Also its important in sales to ask yourself questions about what your doing so you can better understand the outcomes.

Advice to Management

More regular check ups and talks initiated by management could give more confidence and clarity to lower levels and better the overall companies health. Otherwise I very much enjoyed my time at D3... Security and the skills I learned were very valuable.
