Current Employee - Account Manager

I have been working at Weatherford full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Great company with lots of upside and opportunity for young professionals. Strong international presence.

Cons

Working on an oil rig is a tough job and it’s not for everyone. You usually have to do a 12-hour shift seven days a week when you’re on your rotation schedule. You may be required to do overtime for... projects or emergencies. Many workers will do 80 hours each week of work on an oil rig. The work can take a toll on your body physically as well.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Niska full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Nice facilities, decent wages. Many very dedicated staff members. Safety is highly regarded.

Cons

micro management at the field level completely out of control. Pathetic personal agendas. Managers work the hardest to cover their butts, and completely insecure about everything. Field management... completely unaccountable to executive management. HR department is essentially non existent, and completely guided by executive planning, appears completely out of touch with any field concerns or activities.

Advice to Management

Shuffle middle managers at the field level. Give employees equal opportunities and advancement. Staff is stagnant, no room to move. Executive management should consider selling and integrating into a... larger corporation so all staff see change.
